Lunch at Bugsy’s
It was a really cold windy day so Jacob and I decided to eat at Bugsy’s for some comfort food. We ordered spaghetti & meatballs and buffalo tenders with a bleu cheese dip. It was really good! There were mushrooms, onions and lotsa herbs and spices in the tomato sauce so it was all yummy. However, I didn’t really like how the meatballs were made. Too many fillers. The buffalo tenders were to die for! Crispy on the outside but tender inside and the buffalo sauce was really good! It went perfectly with the bleu cheese.

A photo of me and Jacob messing around. Ok, ‘til our next food trip! Bye for now!

Chez Karine macarons from my friend Mich. They were so good!
BRGR The Burger Project
I CAN NOW SAY THAT I HAVE A FAVORITE BURGER PLACE! And it recently opened a second branch at the ground floor of Grand Towers in Taft, Manila. How convenient!

My friend Carl and his brother Chris invited me and other lucky people to blog about their newly opened franchise of BRGR. If you love burgers, well BRGR should be at the top of your list!

Forque
Along Pasay Road lies a quaint restaurant serving European comfort food and dishes that everyone will enjoy. Forque is a great place to dine at any time of the day or occasion.

The space is enough for 40-50 diners. The red walls and dark flooring give the ambiance a warm and cozy feeling. However, I feel like there should be more lighting because it was kind of dark at certain areas but I guess it’s okay because it makes gatherings and meals more intimate.

Jacob invited me to review this restaurant with him. Of course I just had to bring along my supposed twin and fellow foodie, Melissa.

The Pumpkin soup was subtle and just right. I enjoyed the creaminess and the slight hint of cheese.

We then had Gambas served with a side of garlic bread. It was a great starter, the shrimp was cooked just right. I did wish there was more heat to it though. But that’s just me and my love for spicy food talking.

Our entree was this huge portion of rib eye steak served with mashed potatoes and vegetables with mushroom gravy! Delish! The steak was cooked just the way I like it!

This is how the smaller serving looks, I found it to be the perfect portion size if you’re not looking to devour a huge chunk of meat by yourself. The mashed potatoes had the texture I like but could have used more seasoning.

Jacob recommended we get mojitos and so we did in Peach and Strawberry. They were very refreshing!

Lastly, my favorite part of the whole meal, was dessert. The Forque Special is an ice cream concoction with orange juice and syrup topped with caramel popcorn! OMG! This was just heaven! The flavor combination was so good! I think I might’ve ordered two of these if I wasn’t as full that time.
Overall, it was a great meal! The staff was very nice and friendly and the chef paid us a visit at our table. Forque is definitely a restaurant I would go back to if I had the budget for it. When they said comfort food, they meant it!
Budget per person for 1 dish: Php250-400
Budget per person for a heavy meal: Php500-700
Forque is located along Pasay Road behind New World Hotel, Makati.
Let It Rain

Today, I got to help Jacob Gayanelo for a shoot he was doing for Meg Magazine. It was my first time to visit Strata 100 and I was with Angel and Jacob’s caster, Jaime, watching him do what he does best - smile. Nyahaha!

Afterwards, we went to Som’s Noodle House for lunch. It was the first time Angel and I ate there and we loved how authentic the Thai food was. Check out some of what we ordered. First we had the Cha Yen aka Thai iced tea! This drink is legit! A must-have if you’re at Som’s. It actually took Angel back. Her memories and her home - Bangkok.

Som Tam is a green papaya salad. It was really fresh and it was spicy enough. The flavors were definitely there. Gets your taste buds tingle for more!

Their pad thai was real good too. I really enjoyed it!

We then had the Prad Kra Pao which was a pork basil dish. It’s something I’ve never had before so the flavor was new to me. Somewhat bitter, somewhat salty. Overall, we had a really good meal! I’m definitely going back for more!

And the rest of the day was pretty chill. I had a caramel macchiato to go with the rainy weather. Tastes perfect! How does Jacob look in this brown Massimo leather jacket?
